Winter Fest in the Springs brings holiday spirit

December 12, 2013

YELLOW SPRINGS — Weeks before Santa takes off from the North Pole to visit children all over the world, he’s making a stop at Glen Helen this Saturday.

Come early to see a showing of “Elf” at the Little Art Theatre screening at 10:30 a.m. and again at 3:30 p.m. The movie is free for kids 12 and under and only $5 for adults. After that, enjoy some lunch, and then climb aboard Santa’s Holiday Wagon, located right outside the theatre - it’s free and fun for the whole family. Santa’s Elves will greet you when you arrive at the Glen.

When you arrive at the Glen Helen Building on Corry Street, you can sip hot chocolate as you enjoy holiday entertainment, crafts, treats and best of all - tell Santa about your wish list. Visit with Santa from 1:30-4 p.m. and have your picture taken. The Glen will be hosting fun activities from 1-4:30 p.m.

Annual holiday highlights happening around the village include Young’s Christmas Tree Farm running daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the Legendary Lights of Clifton Mill starting at 6 p.m. every evening with a display of 3.5 million lights.

Start some new holiday traditions in Yellow Springs. Have a winter adventure exploring the 2,000 acres of nature trails. Find the perfect gift at one of 65 shops and galleries.
