XENIA — The giving season continued Friday afternoon as the Xenia YMCA received a check for $1,000 from the local Taco Bell restaurant.
“Yearly we work to help the Boys and Girls Club,” Dee McCormick, General Manager of the Xenia Taco Bell, said. “Here we’re working with the Y. Fortunately, we have a lot of events that allow us to do some great fundraising.
“In fact, this past year, our store was fifth in the nation in funds raised,” McCormick continued. “And all of that stays here in Greene County.”
Tiffany Foxx, Executive Director of the Xenia YMCA, said Taco Bell joins a list of great donors to the Y.
“We will place a banner to show (Taco Bell’s) donation,” Foxx said while showing McCormick the flags that line the hallway. “That banner will be up for the full year…”
“And for years to come,” McCormick interrupted.
McCormick said along with employee donations, there are also donation canisters on the counter at the store.
“We do a lot of projects, from local to fighting world hunger.”
The money donated to the Y will assist in youth memberships and fees.
