BEAVERCREEK— The 28th New Year’s Eve Resolution Run has a new look for its long-sleeve tech shirt. Denise Baker, mom to junior cross country runner Jared LeBlanc, came up with an orange and white shield against with top hat on a long-sleeve, black water-wicking shirt.

Price is $25 with a long-sleeve technical shirt or $20 with no shirt. Registration on the day of the race, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., will be $28. Kids’ races are $10 with a T-shirt. Race packets can be picked up 6 to 7:30 p.m. on race day at Beavercreek High School.
This year’s 5K race (3.1 miles) will be held at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 31. Runners take off from the front of Beavercreek High School, 2660 Dayton-Xenia Road, and wind through the residential area next to and behind the high school. They’ll finish with almost a full lap on the Beavercreek High School track.
The Kids’ Race of Champions will start at 7 p.m. for 6 and under (250 meters or a little more than a ½ lap around the Beavercreek High School track); 7:15 p.m. for 7 to 12 years old (1/2 mile).
The Beavercreek Cross Country Parents’ Association hosts the Resolution Run, which is the biggest fundraiser for the Beavercreek High School cross country team.
There will be 14 age divisions, ranging from 14 and younger to 80 and older. Awards will be presented to the top three in each division plus a special award to the overall top female and male.
Before and during the race, there will be a cash and carry silent auction with many items up for bid from local businesses and supporters of the run.
The Resolution Run draws participants from the Miami Valley, Ohio and other states, and is sanctioned by USA Track & Field, the national governing body for track and field, long-distance running and race walking in the United States.
