GREENON 70, INDIAN LAKE 49: Jenn Miller scored 17 points, Taylor Burson added 12 and Lianne Musquelier tossed in 10 to lead the Knights to Saturday’s Central Buckeye Conference win over host Indian Lake. Greenon (9-5 overall, 6-1 CBC Mad River Division) is currently in a first-place tie for the division lead with New Paris Graham. The Knights play at Springfield Shawnee on Wednesday, host Springfield on Thursday and then will host Graham for a big CBC battle on Saturday. Indian Lake (4-10, 1-5 CBC Mad River) was led by Haley Boberg, who scored 12 points.
XENIA CHRISTIAN 48, DAYTON NORTHRIDGE 41: The visiting Ambassadors led 40-25 after three quarters of play, then withstood a 16-8 Polar Bear scoring comeback in the fourth for Saturday’s win in Dayton. Rachel Graver came off the bench to lead Xenia Christian with a team-high 10 points, while starter Grace Dean finished with nine points in the win. Xenia Christian, now 6-6 overall and 3-3 in the Metro Buckeye Conference, will host Miami Valley at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
BELLBROOK 48, VANDALIA BUTLER 30: The visiting Golden Eagles held Butler to 10 points or less in each quarter to claim Saturday’s nonleague win. No individual statistics were reported. Bellbrook (10-4, 6-2 in the Southwestern Buckeye League’s Southwestern Division) faced another Greater Western Ohio Conference team, Miamisburg, on Monday night. They return to SWBL action Thursday when they’ll play at Oakwood.
CARROLL 81, CINCINNATI ROGER BACON 12: The visiting Patriots led 50-2 at halftime. No individual results were reported from Saturday’s Greater Catholic League Co-Ed game.
FAIRBORN 83, WEST CARROLLTON 62: The visiting Skyhawks (7-6, 5-1 Greater Western Ohio Conference, South) held a 51-40 lead at halftime of Saturday’s game, then they outscored the host Pirates 21-5 to start the second half. No individual results were reported for Fairborn. West Carrollton’s Alex Craig led his team with 20 points and Pirate teammate Devante Lashe finished with 16 in the loss. Fairborn has a nonleague contest scheduled today at Dayton Belmont.
CINCINNATI TRAILBLAZERS 47, YELLOW SPRINGS 43: Despite respective scoring efforts of 16 and 14 points by Yellow Springs’ Devon Perry and Kaner Butler, the Bulldogs were unable to rally from a 39-29 third-quarter deficit. Other scorers for Yellow Springs were: Isaiah Taylor (4 points), Liam Weigand (7) and Bryce White (2). Yellow Springs (1-11) plays at Middletown Christian at 7 p.m. today.
WASHINGTON COURTHOUSE 64, XENIA 63: No individual results were reported, but visiting Xenia was outscored 21-14 in the final quarter of Saturday’s nonleague battle. The Buccaneers (6-7) are scheduled to host Trotwood-Madison for a 7:30 p.m. contest tonight.
BELLBROOK 60, EATON 34: Austin Hall led Bellbrook (7-3, 5-1 SWBL Southwestern) with 10 points while teammates Hayden Borondy and Landon Singletary came off the bench to score nine each, in Friday’s win in Eaton. Bellbrook is scheduled to host Brookville in an SWBL Southwestern tilt tonight.
FAIRBORN 52, SPRINGBORO 48: Malik Jacobs scored a game-high 18 points, and teammate Jordan Michael tossed in 15, to led Fairborn to Friday’s road win over Springboro. The Skyhawks claimed first place in the Greater Western Ohio Conference South with Friday’s road win over the Panthers. Fairborn is now 5-1 in the division, while Miamisburg is a half game back at 4-1. The Skyhawks will host Miamisburg in a key GWOC South contest on Friday night.
Wright State fends off Cleveland State for win
CLEVELAND — The Wright State men’s basketball team had to hold off a Cleveland State comeback before defeating the Vikings 49-46 in Horizon League action in Cleveland Sunday afternoon. Jerran Young led the way for Wright State with 10 points off the bench, while Matt Vest had nine and Cole Darling seven. Jon Harris paced Cleveland State (11-9, 3-3 Horizon) with a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds off the bench while Bryn Forbes had 14.
