“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!’” (Isaiah 52:7)
History records how expectant cities and nations were to hear of a victory over an enemy. Runners would carry the news and everyone waited breathless for good news of a victory that would mean peace. It is certainly a good thing, good news. Deliverance and salvation are always good news.
The Lord brought many things upon His people but in the end there was always the runner with good news, bringing once more peace to God’s people. God would again be acknowledged by the nation. His power would be confirmed by goodness and their deliverance.
How wonderful it is when the world recognizes the wonder of our God. When He brings deliverance and the world bows, be it only for a period, it is a sight to behold. Here Isaiah reveals that the world shall bring praise to our God because of His mighty deeds.
Let the world sing the praise of our Savior, Jesus, as they see and experience His salvation. This is the message we who follow Jesus bring. It is good news for every life. It is good news for meaningful life. It is the very presence of God.
Heavenly Father, spread the good news. Spread the Good News of Your love in Christ through us. Bring the people’s of the earth to shout acknowledgement of Your reign that they may know eternal peace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
