XENIA — The intersection of North Detroit Street and Kinsey Road was re-opened to traffic, including semi-trucks, this morning.
Hollywood Drive will be opened to westbound traffic only until early next week, pending completion of the remaining utility and concrete work.
The work, which began on March 29, was delayed twice due to weather and then water drainage into the sand layer under the road forced city officials to completely close the intersection on Tuesday.
Vectren, which was performing work there, had around-the-clock crews pledged until the intersection could be safely opened.
Through a press release, Vectren and the City of Xenia thanked residents and business owners for their patience and cooperation throughout the duration of construction.
