Local libraries announce programs

GREENE COUNTY — The Greene County Community Libraries will hold a variety of programs for the month of Dec.. Some programs require registration contact the local library to register. The following library programs are planned:

Bellbrook

Winters-Bellbrook Community Library is located at 57 W. Franklin St. To register for programs call 937-352-4004.

Make a Gumdrop Tree for ages 7-11, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13. Make a holiday gumdrop tree. Registration required.

Wednesday Morning Story Time for ages 2-4, 10-10:50 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 20, 27. A morning of stories, music, and crafts.

Babies & Books for ages 6-24 months, 10-10:40 a.m. Dec. 14, 21, 28. Join us for a very special story time for the youngest patrons.

American Girl Holiday Tea Party for ages 6-11 will be held at Bellbrook Presbyterian Church, 72 W Franklin St., 3:30-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20. Guests are invited to bring along their favorite doll for a special party where we will share stories, refreshments, and crafts. Registration required.

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes for ages 12-18, 8-9:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21. Join staff for this virtual reality computer game. Registration required.

Cedarville

Cedarville Community Library is located at 20 S. Miller St. To register for programs call 937-352-4006.

Painted Ornament for ages 6-8 with adult, 5-6:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14. Join us for a fun evening of painting with local artist Cheryl Kerns and take home your finished ornament. Supplies will be provided. Registration required.

Afternoon Movie for all ages, 2-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27. Enjoy an afternoon watching a great movie on the big screen.

Jamestown

Jamestown Community Library is located at 86 Seaman Drive. To register for programs call 937-352-4005.

Wednesday Story and Playtime, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13. Listen to a story and enjoy the toy area set up for children and parents to play and read books together.

Middle School Book Club for grades 6-8, 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14. Join our Middle School book club and get the book for next month.

Yellow Springs

Yellow Springs Community Library is located at 415 Xenia Ave. To register for programs call 937-352-4003.

Craft Night for adults, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13. The craft is a calico and silk ornament. All supplies provided. Registration required.

Baby Song & Rhyme Time, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 20. Enjoy songs, simple stories, and rhymes with your little one. Ms. Janet presents a short interactive program followed by open playtime.

A Taste of Mystery Book Club for adults, 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14. Join staff for some light snacks and a lively discussion of Mistletoe Murder: A Lucy Stone Mystery by Leslie Meier.

Preschool Story Time, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15. Join Ms. Janet for fun with stories, songs, rhymes, and a craft.

Paws to Read, 3-4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14. Read to and visit with our four-legged friends and their people. All participating pets are certified with the Miami Valley Pet Therapy Association.
