XENIA — The Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center has added several events to its already robust calendar.

The senior center will be going to Scioto Downs Raceway and Casino on Monday, Sept. 14. A continental breakfast begins 7:30 a.m. at the senior center. The bus leaves 8 a.m. and will return at approximately 5 p.m. The cost is $30 and includes breakfast, the bus ride, $20 in casino play and $5 in food comps.

An evening of wine, hors d’oeuvres and entertainment featuring the music of Movin’ On Quartet will take place 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24 at Caesar Creek Vineyards, 962 Long Road, Xenia. Ticket prices range from $20 to $35 and include admission.

All proceeds from the wine event will benefit the center’s Home-Delivered Meal Program. The Center prepares, packages and delivers meals to the aging in Xenia and the surrounding area who are unable to go out to eat or to cook for themselves. The goal is to help seniors stay in their own homes for as long as possible. Nearly 27,000 meals were delivered in 2014.

Tickets for either event can be purchased by calling the center at (937) 376-4353 or mailing or visiting the center at 130 E. Church St.

The senior center is also having a memorial balloon launch Wednesday, Sept. 9, after its monthly luncheon. More than 70 people will be remembered.
