FAIRBORN — The City of Fairborn Street Department has planned a series of road repairs to begin this Friday, Aug. 12.

The repairs begin at Kauffman Avenue. Starting at 4 a.m. until approximately noon Friday, Aug. 12. Kauffman Avenue between Zink Road and Col. Glenn Highway will be closed on the eastbound side for repairs. Sections of the roadway have crumbled and crews plan to take out two inches of blacktop and replace with fresh asphalt to repair those portions of Kauffman Avenue.

After the weekend passes, Beaver Valley Road will receive repairs between Autumn Creek and New Germany-Trebein Road. The repairs starts Monday, Aug. 15, through Tuesday, Aug. 16 and possibly Wednesday, Aug. 17. These repairs call for Beaver Valley Road to be closed to northbound traffic for the duration of the construction. Drivers will be re-routed via detour signs posted at Old Yellow Springs Road and Dayton-Yellow Springs Road. Southbound traffic will not be affected.

The final repairs scheduled for the week involve Trebein Road between Commerce Center Boulevard and Dayton-Yellow Springs Road. Repairs will start Wednesday, Aug. 17 until Friday, Aug. 19 and are considered minor: the street division is replacing asphalt. Traffic will be permitted in both directions at a cautionary speed.

The City of Fairborn reminds community members that repair dates and times are subject to weather conditions, as with most outdoor work, and may be adjusted accordingly. City officials ask that drivers be cautious of repair crews in the roadway while driving.

Questions regarding the roadwork may be responded to by calling 937-754-3098.
