XENIA — One Bistro is naming a new hamburger after Xenia and is enlisting the community’s help to do so.

Executive chef and owner Robert Adamson and his cooking cohorts are each putting their personal touches on a burger, and patrons will be able to pick Xenia’s new signature burger and name it as well.

“Something that represents the community,” Adamson said. “It could go anywhere.”

The voting runs Thursday, Sept. 1 through Saturday, Oct. 15.

The person who comes up with the name of the new burger will get their picture in the Xenia Daily Gazette, which is partnering with One Bistro for the promotion.

The contest is similar to what Adamson did with the Miamisburg One Bistro, which offers the jalapeno-topped Miamisburger. Adamson created the Tex-Mex Burger for the contest and figured he had it won.

“I thought I had it nailed,” he said with a grin. “I wouldn’t have thought the jalapeno burger would have been so popular.”

One Bistro opened earlier this year and operates on a “pay what you can” basis. Suggested prices appear on the menu, but those who can not pay are asked to volunteer in return for their meal. There is also a “pay it forward” jar by the cash register, so those who are able to pay more can make donations to help cover someone else’s food.
