Empty Bowl dinner to be held

XENIA —Interfaith Hospitality Network/ Schneider House of Hope, a Greene County homeless shelter, invites members of the community to attend the first Empty Bowl Dinner and Silent Auction 5:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7.

Soups, breads, beverages and desserts will be available for dinner, all items donated from local restaurants. With a donation of $25, guests will receive a handmade cermaic bowl with their dinner. Just dinner is $20. Children five and under are invited to attend for free.

The silent auction will be held 5:30-7 p.m. Items available include a Wyndham Resort one week vacation, Bengal tickets, WSU basketball tickets, and other items donated by local merchants. For a listing of these items, check out www.ihnofgreeneco.org or the Schneider House of Hope Facebook page.

All proceeds from the event will go to help homeless children and parents at the IHN/Schneider House.

The event will be held at Faith Community United Methodist Church, 100 Country Club Drive. Reservations with payments can be made at IHN or mailed to 124 S. Detroit St. by Oct. 3.
