BELLBROOK — The Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Parks will host a variety of upcoming programs held at the Community Center. Call 937-848-3535 or visit www.bellbrooksugarcreekparks.org for more information or to register.

Babysitting certification

The parks are offering a course on babysitting certification 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, that is designed for young adults ages 12-15 years, who will be babysitting or providing child and infant care. Learn emergency action steps, fire-water safety, infant care, and also CPR, basic first aid, and choking management. The program will be taught by a certified Bellbrook Fire Department, American & Safety Health Institute instructor. Participants will receive certification cards for CPR; Basic First Aid & Child and Babysitting Safety upon successful completion of the program. This program will be located at the Park District Headquarters, 2751 Washington Mill Road. Remember to bring a sack lunch. Registration is required by Oct. 7.

Pinterest party

The park district will help attendees create fun items from the popular website “Pinterest” 6:30-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17 at the Community Center. In this class, the parks will provide all the supplies and ingredients to create the website’s most popular crafts and food “pins” on Pinterest. Each month we will focus and challenge our ideas in four areas: seasonal ideas, health, food, and crafty creations to brighten up your personal space. The cost is $15 per resident and $20 non-resident.

Fit club meet up

Join the parks for our new fitness program: Fit Club Meet Up. This is a program for those who want to meet new people that want to get outside to be healthier and fit. Each month there will be two fitness meetings – one organized by staff and the second will be at your leisure during a designated week. Each participant will receive a passport and for every challenge you complete you will receive a stamp. For every 10 stamps you will receive a fun prize. This is an on-going fitness challenge program.

The next date is 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 at Kehl Park, 1730 Sonoma Cour for boot camp in the park where we will jog around the paved path and stop and different exercise stations. Also participate in our secret challenge the week of Oct. 24-30. Call 937-848-3535 for more information or email Jamie Welton at [email protected].
