CAESARCREEK TOWNSHIP — A three-year-old Jamestown girl injured in a traffic accident Saturday afternoon died at Dayton Children’s Hospital Monday morning.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol Xenia post confirmed that the girl was pronounced dead by the coroner shortly after 6 a.m. According to Sgt. Jim Slusher, the girl was a passenger in a Ford F-150 driven by Douglas A. Randall, 27, of Jamestown, who was north on Paintersville-New Jasper Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a Dodge Ram 3500 driven by Austin R. Turner, 25, of Spring Valley. Turner was westbound on Hussey Road.

The girl, who was not related to Randall, was not in a child seat, nor was she buckled in a seat belt, Sgt. Slusher said.

“We have no evidence to support that,” he said.

The girl was taken to Miami Valley’s Jamestown emergency room and then taken by CareFlight to Dayton Children’s. Randall and Kent. E. Turner, 68, of Dayton, who was a passenger in the Dodge, were taken to Greene Memorial Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Sgt. Slusher said the patrol will confer with the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office to determine what, if any, charges will be filed.
