GCP&T volunteer training

BEAVERCREEK — Anyone interested in volunteering with Greene County Parks & Trails (GCP&T) is invited to attend as a guest at one of its volunteer training sessions from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday, Jan. 30, at the Narrows Reserve Nature Center, 2575 Indian Ripple Rd. Little Miami Watershed has speaker’s bureau

BELLBROOK — The newly formed Little Miami Watershed Network, an umbrella organization for all those interested in the Little Miami River, has created a speaker’s bureau and a program appropriate for civic groups, schools, government jurisdictions and garden clubs. The bureau will present this program, which can be delivered in as little as 20 minutes, anywhere within the 11 counties that form the Little Miami River Watershed, including its main tributaries: North Fork, Massie Creek, Beavercreek, Sugarcreek, Caesar Creek, Turtle Creek, Cowan Creek, Todd’s Fork, East Fork, and Duck Creek. The watershed drains 1,757 square miles in Clark, Madison, Montgomery, Greene, Warren, Butler, Clinton, Clermont, Brown, Highland and Hamilton counties. Kiwanis meetings

XENIA — The Xenia Kiwanis club meets 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday at the Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center. The club’s main focus is on children. Fore more information visit www.xeniakiwanis.org.

The Greene County Chapter of the Public Employee Incorporated (PERI)

XENIA — PERI will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25 in the Multipurpose Room at the Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center, 130 E. Church Street. We will have the election of President and Secretary for 2017. Please come prepared to pay your yearly dues.

Bellbrook-Sugarcreek parks

BELLBROOK — The Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Park District’s regular meetings are held 7 a.m. the fourth Thursday of each month, at the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Community Center, 2751 Washington Mill Rd., Bellbrook. The November meeting will be the third Thursday, while December’s meeting will be the second Thursday.

Volunteers sought

XENIA — The Xenia Food Pantry needs volunteers. The volunteers work one time per month, a shift is three and half hours in length and is either in the morning or afternoon. There is no heavy lifting involved in any of the three positions. To help the Pantry call 937-372-8441 and leave name, telephone number, and the someone will be in contact. A further explanation of the positions will be given at that time. The pantry is located on Ledbetter Road behind the county building.
