XENIA — Bill Harris retired from service as a driver with the Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center Feb.

He has driven for the senior center for more than 21 years and was the most tenured driver on staff. His normal route included a daily dialysis route that begin 5 a.m. every morning. He drove many of the same clients for several years. Clients as well as those individuals working at the clinics have all expressed how much they will miss Harris and his cheerful personality, according to senior center Executive Director Judy Baker.

Staff and supervisors at the senior center hosted a going away party for Harris and one of his going away gifts included an enlarged framed picture of him and his No. 8 van, which he has driven hundreds of miles over the last several years. He expressed how much he enjoyed transporting his clients and how fulfilling his job has been all these years.
