Randall retiring from street department

XENIA — Longtime City of Xenia employee Stan Randall will retire after 18 years Friday, June 30.

The public service maintenance worker joined the City of Xenia in March 1999 and served in many capacities during his nearly two decades of work. He began his career in the parks department where he was responsible for the care and maintenance of Xenia’s 13 city parks. After transferring to the street department, Randall spent summers mowing grass, and winters plowing snow, salting icy streets, and making roads and thoroughfares safe.

Whether he was performing daily duties or responding to a weather emergency, he could always be counted on for his hard work and effort, according to a release from the city’s public relations department.

Randall graduated from New Knoxville Local High School and enrolled at Northwestern Business College in Lima, receiving a certificate of completion.

“Stan was also one of our best snow plow operators and that experience will be missed this winter,” said City of Xenia Public Service Supervisor Ray Ferrell. “Now he moves on to take care of his property in the country and to keep up with the wife’s ‘honey-do’ list. I wish him luck in all his future endeavors.”
