100 Women give to Pass It On

XENIA — One Hundred Women Making a Difference in Greene County recently presented $10,200 to Pass It On, a ministry of Westminster Presbyterian Church at 990 Old Springfield Pike, to buy beds for county families and children.

Pass it On has been matching donors of furniture with clients that need the furniture for the past eight years. More than 2,362 matches of donors and clients have been made so far.

In a newer project called Sweet Dreams, Pass it On supplies beds to individuals. In 2017, the project supplied more than 24 new twin and full beds, mostly for children. Pass It On does this through an agreement with Fairgrounds Furniture to buy the beds. Fairgrounds Furniture then provides free delivery to the clients.

The ministry also provides sheets, pillows, new children’s books and toys. Dayton Avenue Baptist Church and the women of Beavercreek Senior Center have also donated homemade quilts and blankets for the clients.

One Hundred Women has given out over $274,000 in the seven years that they have been meeting. The women meet once a quarter at the Herman Menapace Auditorium for one hour. Three members who have entered their name in the drawing to represent their charity are chosen. They each make a three minute speech, then answer questions before votes are taken. The charity with the most votes receives $100 from each woman, or $10,000 total.
