XENIA — A Greene County grand jury has charged a 20-year-old Yellow Springs man with drug and rape offenses.

According to the Oct. 25 indictments, the charges for Michael M. Gentile stem from an alleged May 22 incident in which the defendant allegedly “engaged in sexual conduct with another” and allegedly “for the purpose of preventing resistance, did, substantially impair the victim’s judgment or control by administering any drug, intoxicant, or controlled substance to the other person surreptitiously or by force, threat of force, or deception …”

The indictments reveal that Gentile allegedly furnished or administered a controlled substance to a juvenile at least two years younger than him, and that he was allegedly in possession of Oxycontin.

A release from the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office said that Gentile was arrested. Court records indicate he posted the $50,000 bond.

Gentile was indicted on four counts of rape, a first-degree felony; sexual battery, a third-degree felony; gross sexual imposition, a fourth-degree felony; corrupting another with drugs, a second-degree felony; aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony and two counts of vandalism, a fifth-degree felony.

Judge Michael Buckwalter is assigned to the case. Court records indicate that defense attorney Jon Paul Rion is representing Gentile and that he will be arraigned in Greene County Common Pleas Court on Friday, Nov. 3.
