Man, dog killed in crash

MIAMI TOWNSHIP — A Xenia man was killed Nov. 22 in Miami Township at Clifton Road and State Route 72.

The accident happened around 1:30 p.m.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Xenia Post, 25-year-old Zachary McDaniel of Xenia failed to stop his SUV at a stop sign then was T-boned by a semi-tractor-trailor and a dump truck.

Two dogs were in an SUV. According to police, care-flight was called and the man and one of the dogs died at the scene.

Officers say alcohol and drugs were not a factor in this crash.

The accident is still under investigation.
