Scout works on life status

BEAVERCREEK — Completing a variety of conservation projects at Greene County Parks & Trails’ (GCP&T) Russ Nature Reserve, one scout completed a requirement for his Life Scout status.

Joe Hammond, a member of Troop 42 in Beavercreek, worked on projects that included erosion control, composting, tree pruning, removing invasive plants, adding deer-resistant mesh to plants as well as transplanting and watering several native plants.

Russ Nature Reserve, 2380 Kemp Road, offers 90 acres of greenspace with hiking trails, bee apiary, bluebird trail, tree identification trail, pond, Lovely Nature PlayScape and much more.
