WPAFB honors its retirees

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — The Retiree Appreciation Day will be held Oct. 30 at the Hope Hotel’s Richard C. Holbrooke Conference Center, with the opening ceremony beginning at 8 a.m.

Retiree Appreciation Day informs retirees of their retirement benefits, legislative issues and any proposed changes currently under consideration.

Speakers from the Wright-Patterson Medical Center, the Dayton VA Medical Center, Military Officers Association of America, the Air Force Sergeants Association and the Defense Accounting and Finance Services will present information for retirees. The presentations will run from 8:30 to 11 a.m.

Approximately 50 vendors will be available to meet with retirees. Among the vendors will be representatives from Social Security, the Dayton VA, various local assisted living facilities and several different clinics from the Wright-Patterson Medical Center.

Those attending Retiree Appreciation Day also will be able to purchase a buffet lunch for $8.95 between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Door prizes will be available throughout the day for attendees and information booths will be on display until 2:30 p.m.

The event is open to the public.
