Perales to speak to Republican women

XENIA — State Rep. Rick Perales will be the featured guest at the next Xenia Republican Women’s Club meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Perales is serving his fourth term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He served as mayor of the City of Beavercreek from 2002-2003 and was elected to the Greene County Commission for eight years. As a state representative for the 73rd District, he represents the western portion of Greene County, including Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Perales is the only member of the Ohio General Assembly who has been inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame.

A native of Los Angeles, he earned a bachelor of science in building construction from Auburn University and a masters of science in international relations from Troy University. Perales retired from the United States Air Force in 1997 as commander of the 788 Civil Engineer Squadron. Perales has been awarded numerous military awards including three meritorious service medals.

Perales received the AMVET 2014 Legislator of the Year Award and the Wick Wright Award for outstanding service to the National Aviation Heritage Alliance in 2015. In 2019, he was awarded the Legislator of the Year Award from the Ohio Aviation Association for outstanding support of Ohio’s aviation and aerospace industry.
