XENIA — Members of the new Xenia High School group Xenia Students Taking Action Today (X-STAT) were recognized during a recent board of education meeting.

X-STAT is a student-led group of students and staff members working to improve school climate by cultivating a sense of belonging and school pride. This is being accomplished through the design of bulletin boards and the posting motivational messages in the building, among other activities. This group of volunteers serves as role models and works to create a welcoming and positive environment for the other 1,200 students at Xenia High School.

Grant funds from the Xenia Community Schools Foundation helped provide the supplies needed for this project.

The grants awarded by the foundation would not be possible without the help of the community. The XCSF sponsors the annual Hall of Honor dinner and induction ceremony and is hosting other fund-raising events throughout the year. Donations from such events help support the mission of the Foundation in providing grants to Xenia Community Schools. The Foundation has provided approximately $145,000 during the last seven years to benefit education in Xenia.

Xenia Community Schools Foundation is an Ohio non-profit 501(C) (3) corporation. Gifts made to the XCSF qualify as tax deductible charitable contributions. For information about the XCSF, visit the website (xcsfoundation.com), Facebook (Xenia Community Schools Foundation) or call the Xenia Chamber of Commerce at 937-372-3591.
