Zombie fun walk coming to Xenia

XENIA — The Xenia High School Band Boosters are holding a Zombie Fun Run 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8 at Doug Adams Stadium.

Featuring a cast of high school band student zombies and an obstacle course through the stadium grounds, this is an approximately 2-mile, non-sanctioned event where participants can run, walk, creep or crawl to avoid the zombies. Similar to a game of flag football, participants will have a belt with tags that can be pulled off. Those who cross the finish with tags in place are “survivors,” while those who have their tags removed by a zombie are considered to have been “bitten.” All finishers will get a special event sticker. All participants will also receive a free glow necklace.

The first 50 paid registrants will get a free T-shirt, with additional shirts for sale at the event. Kettle corn and Kona Ice will be available for sale. A local DJ, zombie face painting, fun photo cutouts, and a 50/50 raffle will also be part of the evening. All proceeds support the Xenia High School Band Boosters.

Students will be dressed as and made up as Zombies. This may be startling to young children. Please consider keeping young children at home.

Registration is $20 per person by Sept. 28; $25 per person after Sept. 28 and at the gate. Checks can be made payable to Greene Giving, and mailed to: Xenia HS Band Boosters, PO Box 268, Xenia, 45385.
