XENIA — The annual Dr. Clement Austria Christmas Party brought cheer to the large crowd that gathered at St. Brigid Church’s Parish Activity Center.

Jean Austria, widow of Dr. Clement, along with sons, former U. S. Representative Steve Austria and Dr. Greg Austria, owner of Brilliant Smiles Family Dentistry in Xenia, were on hand to welcome the seniors, who showed up in big numbers for this 39th annual party. Along with a luncheon, those in attendance had a visit from Santa along with entertainment and prize drawings.

“We are grateful to be able to bring this to you and for us all to be he here for this holiday season,” Steve Austria said.

The meal was prepared by staff of the Xenia Area Recreation and Services Center with dessert furnished by Hospitality Homes.

The Austria Christmas Party began in 1974. After Dr. Clement Austria’s death in 1986, the family has carried on the tradition.
