XENIA — The Xenia Rotary is well on its way to making Christmas a lot brighter for some local children.

The civic club spent some time Tuesday loading packages into the back of vehicles that will transport the gifts to a special area where they will be picked up by Santa and delivered to area elementary schools and Red Cross shelters for kids who might night otherwise have a holiday.

Participants are suggested to the Rotary Club. The kids are asked questions, such as favorite color, and the answers are forwarded to the Rotarians. Each member of the club then furnishes the gifts for one or two of the participating students.
