XENIA — Members of FFA chapters sponsored by Greene County Career Center recently competed in the Mt. Gilead Invitational career development event at the Morrow County Fairgrounds. The county was represented by eight team and four individual top 10 finishes. These chapters include members from the Career Center’s main campus and the Agricultural Research Center plus competitors from agriculture classes at Xenia, Greeneview, Cedarville and Yellow Springs High Schools.

The Yellow Springs Poultry Team of Izzy Long, Ashley Longshaw, Zane Pergram, McKenna Moore and Alex Snoddy placed first in their event. Individually, Long placed first overall followed by Longshaw in fourth, Pergram in tenth, Moore in 19th and Snoddy in 35th. Xenia’s Poultry Team of Alison Rapp, John Lyons and Charles Wilson placed seventh led by Rapp’s 14th place finish. The Poultry team from Cedarville was 10th led by Jamie Huston’s seventh place finish.

Xenia’s Dairy Products team captured eighth place and was led by Stephanie Wuebben’s 10th place award. She was joined by Hannah Rase in 19th place, William Cody in 51st and Clara Haines in 59th. The Yellow Springs team took home a 12th place trophy thanks to a fourth place overall finish by Landon Rhoads and a 27th place finish by Tristan Campbell.

Matthew Hiser was fourth and Cole Hiser 29th in General Livestock to lead Greeneview’s team to fourth place. Rachel McClellan from Xenia was 38th in General Livestock and her team placed 26th.

Individually, Cedarville’s Brooke Anderson was third and Emma Horney was 24th in General Livestock. Matthew Myers represented Xenia and placed 58th in Equine Management.
