XENIA — Tia Peckham from Greene County Career Center’s International Business and Finance program recently placed first at the Business Professionals of America State Leadership Conference in the Administrative Support Research Project competition.


Peckham, a senior from Jamestown, qualifies for the National Leadership Conference April 30-May 4 in Indianapolis.


Also representing GCCC at the state event with top 10 finishes were Lora Johnson in Presentation Management Individual and Kourtnee Arndt in Database Application. Johnson is a senior from Jamestown in International Business and Finance while Arndt is a senior from Fairborn representing Information Technology.


Joanne Hodgson serves as the teacher for International Business and Finance while Richard Kayser leads Information Technology.


Business Professionals of America is the leading career and technical student organization for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology and other related career fields. BPA has 43,000 members in over 2,300 chapters in 23 states. BPA is a co-curricular organization that supports business and information technology educators by offering co-curricular exercises based on national standards.
