FAIRBORN — Come out for a morning of free fishing and fun at the 8th Annual Fairborn Fishing Derby 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, May 10 at the Community Park pond.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and no fishing license is required. Participants must bring their own fishing pole, tackle, and bait. Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present to sign the registration form.
Prizes are awarded for longest fish, heaviest fish, and most fish caught in each age category: under 8, 9-12, 13-17, and 18 and over. Judges circulate around the pond to certify and record all catches. It is the participants’ responsibility to maintain legible records to be turned in at the end of the event. Parks staff will be on hand to provide final ruling on all catches should the need arise. All participants must be present to win.
