XENIA — In celebration of Arbor Day, the City of Xenia Tree Committee planted two elm trees at Xenia Station, 150 S. Miami Ave.

Following a presentation honoring the City of Xenia 2014 Heritage Trees, the trees were planted during an educational session led by City of Xenia Tree Committee members Chuck Poore, arborist, and Rich Pearon, horticulturalist, Five Rivers MetroParks. The two elm trees were donated by Strausburg Nursery in Xenia and Knollwood Garden Center in Beavercreek.

The 2014 Heritage Trees were also announced by the City of Xenia Tree Committee, City of Xenia BRACA Committee and the City of Xenia. The Arbor Day event included button-making with the Greene County Soil and Water Conservation District and tours of the historic Baltimore and Oriole caboose located at Xenia Station.
