XENIA — The American Red Cross, Greene County Housing Program, better known as the Homeless Shelter, is in need of new mattresses for their client’s beds. These mattresses get a lot of use and need to be replaced frequently. Well, it has been some time since they have been replaced and the Pass it On ministry is currently supporting this effort.
The Pass it On Program, a ministry of Westminster Presbyterian Church donated $1,000 towards the purchase of new mattresses to get the project started. Pass it On matches families with household goods to donate with families that need those household goods. The items are free, but need to be picked up by the clients.
The program also raises money to provide airbeds, sheets, and pillows for clients, many of whom are sleeping on the floor. The Homeless Shelter Project is just another community outreach of that ministry. Beds make a huge difference in someone’s life. Imagine not coming home to your nice comfortable beds.
