BEAVERCREEK — A portion of North Fairfield Road is closed after a suspicious device was discovered near the road this morning.

At 9:30 a.m. Beavercreek police received a call about a suspicious device lying in a mulch bed next to the road at the intersection of North Fairfield and Beaver Vu Drive. According to a release from the Beavercreek Police Department, the device appears to be a PVC pipe with capped ends.

The Dayton Police Bomb Squad was called in to remove the device. Police say they’ve checked with known geocaching databases. North Fairfield was closed at 11:55 a.m. and will remain closed until the device can be removed.
