BATH TOWNSHIP — A Kettering woman was pronounced dead early Sunday after crashing her car into the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base perimeter fence.

The Xenia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal crash that occurred around 3:30 a.m. March 2.

According to investigators, Lauren B. Bodey, 30, of Kettering, was traveling northeast on State Route 444 in Bath Township when she failed to negotiate a curve to the right, driving off the left side of the road, and struck the WPAFB fence.

An on duty WPAFB Security Forces Officer, on routine patrol, located the vehicle at 3:37 a.m. and notified the Highway Patrol. Bodey sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
