JAMESTOWN — Samson’s Summerfest, a day-long music and comedy festival in Jamestown, will occur Saturday, Aug. 16 at Morris Pond just off Cottonville Road.

The gates open at 10 a.m. with the entertainment beginning at 10:30 a.m. and running through 11 p.m. The event will feature 14 musical acts and 12 comedy acts.

Musical acts include: Desalitt, Paralyzed Minds, The Suicide Ghouls, Counterflux, Good Luck Year, Echoes for Empathy, Spirits of the Lost, Unseen Victory, 91 Charlie, Redneck Rebelz, Two Dragons, Hydrawolf, The Brothers & Company Entertainers, and Controversy for Breakfast. Comedy acts include: Laura Work, Joe Clawson, Dorian Vasquez, Brian Tower Doney, Kris Tanner, J. Cokes, Jack Legg, Homer Shadowheart, Leslie Battle, Trace Shuttleworth, Matt Thornburg and Don Smith.

Admission is just $5 per person and all proceeds will support the Greene Community Health Foundation and Eleos Rescue and Rehab. Lawn chairs and/or blankets to sit on at the event are recommended.

Event organizers are looking for volunteers, sponsors and vendors to round out the day. Those interested in volunteering, sponsoring, being a vendor or selling advance tickets to this event, should contact Nick Starns at 937-347-7377.
