The following e-mail was sent to my three Congressmen. It is vitally important that freedom-loving Americans contact their Congressmen and voice their opinion. Failure to act will result in unelected international bodies, with no respect for our Constitution or personal rights and freedoms, making future decisions that should be made by Congress. Copy my letter, or express your own thoughts, but do something … !
Regulation of trade with foreign nations is a responsibility of Congress. Granting Trade Promotion Authority to the administration is a concentration of power the Founding Fathers deemed dangerous.
Please vote NO on H.R. 3830 and S. 1900, and any other bills that would award Trade Promotion Authority (also known as fast-track authority) to the Obama administration.
Trade Promotion Authority, with fast-track rules on congressional consideration and prohibitions on amendments and filibusters, is considered essential for passing the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) free trade agreements currently under negotiation. Free trade does not require page after page of rules and regulations under the control of international bodies not subject to Constitutional restrictions.
I oppose the TPP and TTIP agreements because they would lead to economic and political integration of the United States with eleven or more Pacific Rim nations and the European Union (EU). The 28 formerly independent EU nations are now forced by Brussels to accept rules and regulations to which they are opposed — all because they agreed to a series of free trade agreements over the past several decades. Their current anguish would become our future.
Lose of national independence leads to lose of personal rights and freedoms.
Please vote NO on Trade Promotion Authority for the TPP and TTIP, and any future free trade agreements.
