June: DOD LGBT Pride Month?

Editor:

I am trying to understand when it became the business of the Defense Department to promote sexuality. This has been dropped on our nation like a bomb. I understand LGBT Pride flags are being flown below our Stars and Stripes. Is this really appropriate?

I assume there will be a Straight Pride month down the road? Or maybe not. Since when is it the job of the government to lobby for sexuality? I think the media does a pretty good job already.

My understanding of the Defense Department has been that they are called to defend this country. That takes soldiers. They can be of whatever race, culture or sexual orientation. The only question is, “Can they do the job?”

I do not support the homosexual lifestyle but individuals are free to choose it just the way humankind chooses other sins to live by. In an article by David Benkof, a homosexual himself, he says commenting on the history of homosexuality, “…homosexuality was supposedly considered a supplement to one’s regular heterosexual relationships.”

Sin has always been a “supplement” to a person’s regular life. That is what sin is according to the Bible. If a person takes the Bible seriously they will take this fact seriously and choose to be obedient to God’s directives. If one chooses to ignore God’s Word and go their separate way, then they become responsible for their actions and any consequences.

For the DOD to promote a sin that is clearly spoken against in the Bible is a serious matter. Apparently, there are those who do not care about this and are willing to bow to the pressure of the LGBT Lobby. They can do this in the name of Civil Rights, which is a lie, or in the name of sexual freedom, which opens the door to many other sexual options, or they can face the facts of our God who says, “No!”

Let me simply say, to go against God is not wise personally or as a nation. If this trend continues the darkness over our land will grow.
