Xenia’s Seibel earns all-tournament honors
COLUMBUS — Xenia girls bowling team member Samantha Seibel tossed a three-game 600 bowling series to finish fourth out of 150 bowlers who competed in the Ohio High School Invitational kickoff tournament. Seibel is currently ranked second in the Greater Western Ohio Conference with a 205 average. She has a two-game series high of 247 after four games of competition this season. Xenia will next compete in the Team USA tournament, Saturday at Poelking Lanes South in Centerville.
XENIA 2432 , BUTLER 2081: The Xenia bowling squad topped Butler Monday thanks to Evan and Trevor Adkins who bowled a 220 and 218.5 two-game average respectively. Ryan Hetico averaged 209 for the Aviators. The Bucs averaged a score of 223 compared to Butler’s 188.5.
GREENON 61, GREENEVIEW 56: Greenon’s Jacob Wetzel scored a game-high 15 points while teammate Tyler Restau scored 13 to lead the Knights to Saturday’s win over Greeneview. Greenon’s Hayden Stockton and Jay Riegel scored 10 each in the win.
Greeneview was led by Ethan Bradds’ 13-point effort, and Tristan Saunders finished with 11 in the loss.
GREENEVIEW 46, OAKWOOD 33: Future University of Cincinnati Bearcat Ashton Lovely scored a game-high 27 points and hauled in eight rebounds to lead host Greeneview to Monday night’s nonleague win in Jamestown. The Rams were tough on the boards, with Sophie Sonneman grabbing nine rebounds, Alex Rice nabbing eight and Kristen Combs finishing with six in the win.
Courtney Egleston led the Jills with 11 points, while teammate Georgie Murdock finished with 10.
Greeneview will host Springfield Northeastern at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The Rams junior varsity (a 42-30 loser on Monday, despite Cassie Robbins’ 12-point effort) will host Washington Court House at 6 p.m.
BELLBROOK 59, VALLEY VIEW 40: The Golden Eagles defeated the Germantown Valley View Spartans on Saturday to remain in a tie for first place in the Southwestern Buckeye League’s Southwestern Division. Valley View is now 2-1, 1-1 SWBL Southwestern).
Bellbrook (2-2 overall, 2-0 SWBL Southwestern) is tied with Eaton atop the division. The division leaders will meet at 7:15 p.m. Thursday for a game in Eaton. Three of the league’s top-5 scorers will be in that game. Bellbrook’s Chea Taylor is currently tied with West Milton Milton-Union’s Brooke Falb for top scoring honors with a 19 points per game average. Eaton’s Autumn Whirley is currently third in the SWBL with a 17.2 ppg average, and Hannah Songer is currently fifth in scoring at a 14.5 ppg clip.
CENTERVILLE 63, FAIRBORN 30: The Lady Skyhawks (2-3) fell to the Centerville Elks (3-1) at home Saturday behind a big performance from Shannon Coffee. Coffee led all players with 26 points, six rebounds and four assists. Kayla Patterson led the Skyhawks with 10 points and five rebounds. Stephanie Mosher added seven. Fairborn shot 12-35 compared to Centerville’s 25-54.
