Patriots win for new coach Ben Rulli

DAYTON — The Carroll Patriots and new head coach Ben Rulli opened the 2014 season with a 35-0 victory over the Meadowdale Lions. Carroll used a strong running game led by two rushing touchdowns by Marcus LaJeunesse and two rushing TD’s by Joel Teleha, while the stingy Patriot defense limited the Lions to 125 total yards.

Carroll’s offense rushed for more than 350 yards.

Defensively, Cory Hastings and Aaron Jackson both snagged interceptions, and senior defensive end Ambrose Shannon had two sacks.

Marcus LaJeunesse scored two touchdowns on a 37-yard run, and 5 yards. Joel Teleha scored on a 6-yard and 1-yard run. Jordan Flynn scored on a 14-yard. Thomas Barnes converted on five extra points.

Carroll looks to reverse a three-year skid vs. Beavercreek when the Patriots make the short trip to face the Battling Beavers next Friday.
