The Greene County Fish and Game held its annual Youth Outdoor Training Day, Saturday, with the help of the Ohio Wildlife Department and the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF).
Forty-three young people signed in for a fun day enjoying six different activities. Twenty-six adults helped the area youth with instruction and the duties that help with that. The youngest participant was 5 years old, and youth through 17 years old participated.
Each group of kids had an adult group leader to help keep the kids together and moving to the next area. Those activities included Archery, Trap Shooting, Air Rifle, .22-caliber rifle, and the two favorites — muzzle loader shooting and Cowboy action shooting.
The Club provided the ammo and equipment with the help of the Wildlife Department and the NWTF .
Safety instruction was provided for the youth at each station of the event by a range officer. Parents enjoyed the day almost as much as the kids. All participants and the day’s help got a free lunch.
The Greene County Fish and Game Association invites all the area’s youth for next year’s event.
