Devoting to advancing

“From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it. (Matthew 11:12)

There is a power in the works of God. There is power in the revelation of John to the world. There is power in the Messiah’s presence. God’s kingdom has been advancing at His pace from the beginning of His creation. Humankind may have tried to take charge of that force and direct it to the fulfillment of their will but God does not allow such to succeed. God’s will is done beyond the will of humankind.

We understand that it is tempting to become fanciful with the Scriptures and the message of Salvation. This is a temptation we must resist and hold firm to the truth of the Gospel. It is the Gospel that has the power and it is our calling to be faithful to it. It does not need our so called “enlightenment.” God’s Word will do quite well on its own. Our job is to receive it and obey it, by the Grace of God.

Heavenly Father, Your work be done over and above everything humankind may think or do. Advance Your Kingdom surely at Your pace for the good of Your creation – us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
