CLIFTON — Howard Printz was a long-time resident of the Village of Clifton. He and his wife owned the house which at one time had been the shot tower. In spite of the fact that he had to wear braces on both legs in order to stand and walk, he made the opera house his special cause. He solicited funds from many sources, personally supervised the restoration and traveled all over the Miami Valley to gather necessary items such as proper seating and lighting for the building. As long as he was able, he scheduled the variety of programs which were presented on the opera house stage.
