Randall wins bronze at World Masters

PERTH, Australia — Susan Randall, of Beavercreek, placed third to win the bronze medal in the 5,000 racewalk at the World Masters Athletics Championships, earlier this week.

Competing in the women’s W40 event, Randall was third with a time of 26 minutes, 23.67 seconds. Australians Kelly Ruddick (24:49.61) and Cheryl Webb (25:57.61) finished first and second, respectively. Lenka Borovickova of the Czech Republic was fourth in 27:24.65.

Randall will be competing in the women’s 10,000-meter and 20,000-meter events next week, also in Perth, Australia. The 10,000 event is set for Monday.

Cedarville, Greeneview players honored

BELLEFONTAINE — Members of the Cedarville and Greeneview girls volleyball teams received All-Ohio Heritage Conference South Division honors earlier this week.

Cedarville’s Sarah Beste was named to the All-OHC South first team, while Greeneview’s Brianna Seigfried and Cedarville’s Kailey Schultz were named to the OHC South’s second team.

Greeneview’s Kaitlyn Schloss and Cedarville’s Anna Kinsinger both received Honorable Mention recognition.

Men host Milwaukee

FAIRBORN — After a tight 1-0 loss at Penn State on Tuesday night. Oct. 25, the Wright State men’s soccer team will come home to host Milwaukee for Senior Night, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29. The game will be shown live on ESPN3.

The Raiders (9-5-2 and 5-1-1 Horizon League) have posted a 6-2-1 record over the last nine games. Senior Peguy Ngatcha (10 goals, 3 assists) continues to lead the team and the league while Eric Lynch has 15 points (5 goals, 5 assists). Sophomore Jackson Dietrich has collected seven assists. Senior Will Lukowski continues to anchor the job in the nets with a 0.42 goals against over the last five games. WSU is currently in first place with 16 points, three points ahead of UIC and Milwaukee.

Seniors to be honored Saturday include Lukowski, Ngatcha, Lynch, Jake Stovall, Kaique Fernandes, Sam DeRoy, Connor McCafferty, Zach Swiesler and Ryan Pignatiello.

The Milwaukee Panthers, 7-6-2 and 4-2-1, are coming off a 1-0 win at Green Bay last Saturday night. The Raiders won 1-0 at Milwaukee a year ago. Francesco Saporito leads UWM with 15 points (4g, 7a) as Evan Conway has 13 points (6g, 1a). Sam Glass has been in the nets for the Panthers with a 1.15 goals against average.

The Raiders will end the regular season next Friday night at Valparaiso.

Meet the FHS girls basketball team

FAIRBORN — The Fairborn girls basketball team will be introduced from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 in the Fairborn Baker Middle School Gymnasium. The Fairborn Skyhawks youth basketball teams, Baker Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade teams, Fairborn High School junior varsity and the Fairborn varsity Team will all be introduced to the public and will demonstrate their skills. There will be concessions available, a 50/50 raffle, prizes and more.
