XENIA — Weather conditions have officially suspended the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Softball Championship once again at the Athletes in Action Sports Complex on Friday.

Five games were originally supposed to be conducted starting at 9 a.m., but winds and heavy rains forced postponement to 12:30 p.m. tentative start times on field one and two.

But Friday’s weather worsened into early afternoon before the call was made to postpone all remaining games.

The exception is Game 5 between No. 1 seed and tournament host Cedarville and No. 4 seed Davis & Elkins. Those teams may be playing late this evening to help determine the bracket.

If Cedarville and D&E were to play, first pitch would be around 8 p.m. Eastern on Field One.

The conference tournament started a day early and will now be extended with a conference champion and automatic qualifier for the NCAA Championship Midwest Regional most likely to be crowned on Sunday.

The remainder of the conference tournament would resume Saturday morning May 6 at 9 a.m. on both fields, with the next set of games scheduled for 11:30 a.m.

Yellow Jackets may play at 8 p.m. Friday
