Ocean Morris was chosen as the Edward Jones Investments Athlete of the Month for April for Greeneview High School. This award is being sponsored by the office of Mike Reed at Edward Jones Investments of Xenia, serving Xenia, Jamestown, Cedarville and surrounding areas. Ocean, a senior with a 3.667 grade-point average, is on the Rams track and field team. In eight meets — eight races, 21 individual races and nine relays — she recorded 17 wins, nine runner up finishes and four thirds. Morris was the Greene County Invitational champion in the 100-meter hurdles, and also anchored the winning 1,600-meter relay team. A team captain, she leads the team with 159 points while competing in eight different events. She has the top-ranked 800-meter time in the Division II Southwest district, and the second fastest 400-meter time. She not only participated in school track and field, but coordinated the 5K Color Run event to raise money for the Blessings in a Bag food donation program for area families in need.
