ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Coach Gary Kubiak said cornerback Aqib Talib should return Wednesday to the Denver Broncos’ headquarters where team doctors can evaluate the gunshot wound in his right leg.

Talib missed the Broncos’ visit to the White House on Monday after being shot in Dallas over the weekend.

With unanswered questions and even the specter of an NFL suspension swirling around Talib, who has had firearm incidents in his past, Kubiak insisted, “The only thing I’m concerned about is his health.”

Another notable absence was Super Bowl MVP Von Miller, who said Monday he’s optimistic a long-term contract is forthcoming.

Kubiak said he hopes Miller’s deal can get completed before the team breaks for the summer June 16.
