XENIA — Greene County Children Services will host its 8th annual “Trunk or Treat” Halloween event from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28 in the parking lot of the Greene County Social Services complex on Ledbetter Road in Xenia. This free, fun, safe alternative Halloween celebration is open to all Greene County families.

Employees from Greene County Children Services, along with many other local organizations, will pass out treats to children and useful information to parents.

Other organizations participating in this year’s event include Kids Learning Place, United Way, Greene County Library, TCN Behavioral Health, Greene County Parks & Trails, Epsilon Alpha Pi of Cedarville University, Greene CATS, Xenia Police Division’s D.A.R.E. Program, First Student, Inc., St. Vincent Supportive Services for Veteran Families, CareSource, and Orchard Lane Events.

“Our staff and the other participants look forward to Trunk or Treat all year long,” said Greene County Children Services Administrator Amy Amburn. “It’s our chance to provide a fun, positive experience for as many Greene County children as possible. It’s also our way of saying ‘Thank You’ to the entire community for supporting our mission of keeping kids safe from abuse and neglect.”
