WILBERFORCE — Central State University’s 2015-2016 theatre season begins with “In the Blood,” a drama by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks.

“In The Blood” premiered in 1999. Based on Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter, the play tells the story about a mother, Hester, and her five fatherless children as she tries to find help to make her children’s lives successful.

CSU Adjunct Instructor in Drama, Tony Dallas, directs the production. Dallas has worked professionally in the theatre for more than 25 years. He was a founding member of the Human Race Theatre Company.

Visual artist Migiwa Orimo is over costumes and designs. Orimo’s work has been exhibited at the Springfield Art Museum, the Dayton Art Institute and OSU Urban Arts Space in Columbus, Ohio. The production’s Technical Director is Stephon Lane. He is one of the founders and Music Consultant for Mound Street Academies’ Steel Band in Dayton.

Performances will take place in the Paul Robeson Cultural & Performing Arts Center Recital Hall 8 p.m. Nov. 13-15. Tickets are $8 general admission, $1 for students and can be purchased at the door.
