Cedarville leads G-MAC in academic honors

CEDARVILLE — The Great Midwest Athletic Conference released its 2014-15 academic all-conference list and Cedarville University had more listed than any other school for the third straight year.

The Yellow Jackets had 101 student-athletes receive the recognition out of a record total of 416 honored by the G-MAC. Trevecca Nazarene ranked second with 57.

Among Lady Jacket teams, track & field had the most in the elite group with 20 while women’s soccer totaled 18. Track & field as well as soccer also led the way for CU men’s squads with 13 recipients each.

The G-MAC Academic All-Conference Team is made up of sophomores, juniors, and seniors by athletic eligibility, who maintain a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade point average. Honorees must have completed one full year at the nominating institution.
