FAIRBORN — Christina Carter, B.S.N, M.S., FNP-BC, a family nurse practitioner, joined Wright State Physicians Internal Medicine and is accepting new patients at the practice’s offices, located at 1222 S. Patterson Blvd. in Dayton.
As a board-certified family nurse practitioner, Carter is helping Wright State Physicians Internal Medicine meet the growing demand for primary and preventive care. Her areas of clinical expertise include adult care, women’s health, wellness and tobacco cessation.
She takes a holistic approach to health care, caring for the patient as a whole, not only the illness. She provides information to patients to help them make informed decisions about their lifestyle choices. She works with patients to increase their ability to care for themselves and to become informed consumers of health care.
Before joining Wright State Physicians Internal Medicine, Dayton-native Carter worked at the Pediatric and Internal Medicine Center in Richmond, Ind. Carter also worked as a registered nurse at Kettering Medical Center for 15 years before attending the Wright State University College of Nursing & Health Family Nurse Practitioner Program. She graduated in 2007 with her master’s degree.
Her experience includes running a state-funded Tobacco Cessation Program in Dayton when she was a registered nurse. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Credentialing Center, Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Society Zeta Phi Chapter and the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses.
“I joined Wright State Physicians Internal Medicine to expand the availability for wellness and primary care visits and improve continuity of care for our patients,” Carter said. “I am here Monday through Friday and am accepting new patients.”
