XENIA — Greene County Career Center was locked down for short time Tuesday afternoon but there was no threat to the building or students.

According to a statement from Superintendent Dave Deskins, law enforcement advised they were investigating a suspicious device on a nearby property and alerted the school as a precaution.

“We initiated a quiet lockdown although there was no direct threat to the building,” Deskins said. “We were cleared by law enforcement to release as usual and students dismissed as scheduled. Thank you and know that at the Greene County Career Center, the safety of students and staff is our main priority.”
